(JENKINTOWN, Pa.)--"No messages should be exchanged among employees and managers until you know what you're trying to get done, have identified who needs to do it, and have identified how you want those groups to behave...," according to Roland L. Draughon in a recent issue of On Message, a Melcrum Publishing Limited, London, England-based publication.
Draughon, a Philadelphia-area communication management consultant, also told the publication's Chicago-based editor, "The key to the success of the entire organizational system is employee behavior, and therefore, the employee communication management process is all about helping managers influence employee behaviors." The publication featured Draughon's comments in a full-page article that included his illustration of "Communication in the Organizational System." To see the item, click On Message.
Draughon was a featured presenter at the 2002 International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)Conference in Chicago with the topic "How to rope and ride the three-legged communication career monster that never sleeps." Conferencegoers ranked him "#1 Speaker" among the 68 conference speakers with a score of 6.78 out of a possible perfect 7.0.
